When buying your Cat Collar for the first time, it can be challenging to know which size to buy or how to get the best fit.

How to measure size and select the right collar

Here's a step-by-step guide to measuring your kitty's neck size and finding the right size at MyTails:

1. Gather your materials: You'll need a soft measuring tape or a piece of string and a ruler.

2. Get your cat ready: Find a quiet and calm space to measure your cat. Make sure your cat is relaxed to get an accurate measurement.

3. Measure the neck: Wrap a tape measure around your cat's neck and note down the measurement. Ensure it's snug but not too tight.

4. Add some extra space: To ensure a comfortable and perfect fit, add approximately 1-2 fingers' width (about 1/2 INCH to 1 INCH or 1-2 CM) to the measurement you obtained in step 3. This additional space allows for movement and prevents the collar from being too tight.

5. Select the appropriate size: Compare the measurement you obtained in step 4 with the size guide above for each collar on our website. Choose the size that best matches your cat's neck size. If you're in between sizes, it's generally a good idea to go with the larger size for comfort.

After initially fitting the collar, your cat may tense its neck muscles, so always recheck the fit after a few minutes and adjust if necessary.

My TAILS COLLARS ARE NOT SUITABLE FOR KITTENS OR CATS THAT WEIGH LESS THAN 3.0KGS /6.6LBS.
